A man is in hospital after being stabbed in a city centre.
The 38-year-old was injured in a serious assault in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket area at about 2.30am on Thursday, police said.
He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with injuries not though to be life threatening.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police are investigating a serious assault that happened at an address in the Grassmarket area of Edinburgh around 2.30am today.
“A 38-year-old man has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries he suffered in the incident.”
