Firefighters have rescued a fisherman who was stuck waist-deep in mud for four-and-a-half hours.
A total of 26 crew helped to free the 73-year-old after he sank into mud at the side of Loch Eigheach in Perthshire.
The pensioner got into difficulty while fishing with friends in the area between Rannoch Lodge and Rannoch power station, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said.
He had already been stuck for three hours before the group called for help at about 2pm on Thursday. Local fire crews from Kinloch Rannoch, Aberfeldy and Pitlochry went to the scene along with specialist rescue teams from Perth and Dundee.
They were able to free the fisherman by about 3.30pm.
A spokeswoman for the service said: “The gentleman has been removed from the mud by the shoreline. Paramedics assessed his condition and he has gone home.”
