Fife bus and coach hire company Moffat & Williamson has hailed a successful trading year, despite a narrowing of pre-tax profits.
Newly published accounts lodged at Companies House show turnover in the year to November 30 fell from £4.144m to £4.08m.
Pre-tax profits were almost £106,000 lower at £377,663.
In his report, director and company secretary George Devine said: “In very difficult circumstances, the directors consider that despite the loss of a substantial amount of contracts, and also having to negotiate contracts with significantly lower margins than previously, the company has had a successful trading year.”
Mr Devine said the principal risk to the business was the loss of further Fife Council contracts.
But he reported that, post financial year end, the firm had been awarded a substantial number of new contracts relating to north-east Fife tenders.
