A snake found slithering in Albert Street on Friday afternoon was rescued by a local shop owner.
Passers-by were shocked to find a 3ft Florida King on the street and at first thought it may have come from the local pet store.
Debbie Morton, manager of the Reptile Warehouse, said at first she thought it was a wind-up but as soon as she stepped outside she saw the serpent lying on the pavement.
She said: “Being Dundee, I thought they were joking, so I locked the store and went outside. As soon as I got near enough, I could see he was a Florida King.”
While snakes can be feisty, this one was tired and docile from his outing and Debbie was able to pick him up and take him into a warm tank in her shop.
Cold and hungry after its ordeal, the snake is now recuperating with Debbie in her Perth store, Strictly Exotics.
If you are missing your snake, you can contact the store.
