Plans to construct a new supermarket in Cupar have been given final approval.
Aldi is set to build a new 1,500sq ft food store along with parking for more than 90 cars on the site of the former Martex Cash and Carry in South Road. The company says the development will bring around 30 full-time and part-time jobs.
A planning application was approved by members of Fife Council’s North East Planning Committee last month, with confirmation of that decision announced on Monday.
Following the granting of planning permission, Graham Nicolson, property director for Aldi Stores in Scotland, said: “We will now be working hard to bring Cupar shoppers a new Aldi store, delivering new investment on to a long-term brownfield site, together with the creation of new job opportunities for the area.”
Construction is expected to start later this year ahead of an opening date in 2015.
