Police in Dundee have charged a 58-year-old man in connection with disturbances outside a Roman Catholic church in the city.
Members of St Pius X Church in Balerno Street, Douglas, complained about the behaviour of the man as they left the services on February 9 and again on February 23
He appeared to be angry at Balerno Street being congested by the cars of parishioners but witnesses alleged he went on to utter anti-Catholic insults and shouted and swore.
The priest Fr Jim Walls was unable to placate him, and witnesses said his behaviour caused upset especially to elderly and young members of the church.
The matter was reported to the police who launched an investigation, and they said: “A 58 year old man has been charged and a report sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
