A man has been killed in a road crash on the A90 just outside Dundee.
Police and ambulance were called to the scene at Powrie Brae shortly after 6.20pm following the collision between the pedestrian and a car.
The emergency services were alerted to the incident on the southbound Forfar to Dundee carriageway near the Tealing junction but despite their best efforts the man was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
Speaking at the incident site Sergeant Watson Fraser said: “Inquiries are at an early stage.
“We would appeal for any witnesses to come forward. It’s a serious collision and inquiries are ongoing.”
Several police units and the special incident unit blocked off the road and a diversion was put in place round by the Murroes junction.
