Driver ‘feels lucky’ to be here after accident at Ladywell roundabout

A Dundee driver “thought he was finished” after his car careered into a barrier just feet from a busy block of flats.
Benson Banda said he was lucky to walk away from the accident uninjured after his Vauxhall hurtled through the metal railing near the Ladywell roundabout on Thursday afternoon.
The St Mary’s resident said: “I was coming from the Marketgait tunnel. I came around the roundabout and as I was turning I lost control.
“I slammed on the brakes but I skidded into the fence.
“I feel incredibly lucky that I’m still here. I thought I was finished when I saw the wall in front of me.”
One police car attended the scene of accident, which occurred just before rush hour.
There were brief tailbacks as officers directed traffic as the vehicle was recovered.
