Almost 140 homes were left without electricity on Tuesday evening after rolling blackouts. Many homeowners were getting ready to sit down to dinner when power was lost at about 5.30pm. The power loss followed a similar incident on Sunday, with some homes affected for up to two hours. SSE vans were spotted outside the town near the A92 on Tuesday night as the energy provider attempted to tackle the issue. A spokeswoman for the company said the problem had been fixed and apologised for the loss of power. “We were able to find it on Tuesday night and did all the repairs on site,” she said. “Sometimes extreme dry weather followed by wet weather can cause an upset in the lines but problem should now be resolved.”
