Ron Greig, 67, from Burntisland was woken up by sirens outside his window on Wednesday evening. Emergency services came to his door and informed him a group of youngsters were stranded at nearby cliffs. A fire commander told him they would need to use his courtyard as the rescue unfolded. Ron said “it was like something out of a film” as a Royal Navy helicopter landed in a field to the rear of his house. He was later informed that three boys, thought to be aged around 12, had been airlifted to a waiting ambulance. For more on this story get Friday’s edition of The Courier.
