There is little at stake for Brechin this afternoon apart from pride but Glebe gaffer Ray McKinnon insists his side will still be going all out for three points against title-chasing Stranraer.
City have already cemented their fourth place in League One along with their spot in the promotion play-offs with the first leg due on Wednesday evening against a yet to be determined opponent.
Stephen Aitken’s side still have an outside chance of going up as champions but only if they can beat Brechin and Morton and Forfar are defeated by Peterhead and Ayr respectively.
However, McKinnon is determined there will be let-up from his players even with the play-offs looming large on the horizon.
He said: “We will approach this game the same way we do for every one to go out and win it.
“We are determined to finish the season on a high and keep the momentum going into the play-offs starting next Wednesday.
“However, we have several players carrying knocks and it will be a chance for some of the lads such as Callum Tapping and Steven Jackson to get valuable game time.
“Their inclusion will not weaken the team in any way and we will be very competitive.
“Andy Jackson is suspended but will be back for the play-offs and I am thankful that at this late stage of the season, the only other player walking a disciplinary tightrope is Jamie Masson so I will probably have a wee word with him beforehand telling him to avoid any silly bookings.”
Brechin will also definitely be without Gerry McLauchlan with the centre-half still recovering from a calf injury.
