Organisers chasing volunteers for road running festival

Organisers of Glenrothes Road Running Festival are looking for volunteer stewards to man the routes.
John Vaughan, chairman of Fife Olympiad, one of the festival’s principal sponsors, said: “Every year our stewards play a vital part in the success of our event, lining the route, offering guidance and assistance to both participants and spectators, and helping to make sure everything also runs smoothly around the core of the event at the town’s Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre.
“The worst case scenario is that if sufficient volunteers do not come forward then the festival might have to be cancelled but we are hopeful that this will never need to be the case if we can reach and pass the minimum required in time.
“The more people we can have lined up before then the happier we will be.”
