‘I don’t expect these guys will be caught’ Dundee jeweller boosts security as thieves remain at large

The owner of a Dundee jewellers, which was targeted by thieves, has ramped up security amid fears the culprits will never be traced.
Two diamond rings worth thousands of pounds were stolen from Stephen Henderson Jewellers on Union Street, at about 3.55pm on February 6.
The two men, thought to be from the Liverpool area, made their getaway towards the train station but the trail went cold until March 1 when it was reported that the suspects had been spotted in a Chester store.
Since then, the police have not publicly released any further information and shop owner Stephen Henderson is now resigned to the idea the men will never be caught.
Three months on from the raid, he said: “There was a sighting in Chester, but there’s been no development since. To be honest, I don’t expect these guys will be caught.
“We have reviewed our security procedures, so we are a bit more prepared if it happens again. We’ve learned from it and we go forward.
“I can’t turn the shop into a fortress, but we’ll be better prepared in future.”
