Carolyn Strobos will recount her mother’s incredible wartime story at the Tatha Gallery in Newport on Saturday.
She became Dr Tina Strobos, but as a young woman in Amsterdam she helped the Dutch Resistance protect the city’s Jewish citizens from the Nazis.
Carolyn will be at the High Street gallery between 1 and 3pm with a portrait of her mother painted by an artist smuggled from the city during the Second World War.
The full story behind the painting can also be seen on an episode of the Antiques Roadshow Detectives on BBC iPlayer until May 10.
