Crieff Aldi ‘a wonderful opportunity’ that could bring 30 jobs

A proposed supermarket would create 30 jobs in Crieff if the council give it the green light.
The planned 1,254 square metre store by Aldi, which would be moved next to a new primary school in Broich Road, has the backing of Crieff Community Council.
The proposal will also include the provision of a second retail unit as part of a comprehensive development of the site.
Although no retail names have been revealed yet, the chain is confident of a further announcement should its plans be approved by Perth and Kinross Council.
Combined car parking for both stores will allow for 167 spaces.
Andy Doyle, property director for Aldi Stores in Scotland, said the development would go some way to providing a venue where local shoppers can find what they need.
He said: “We are very excited about the prospect of bringing a modern, new Aldi store for the many Crieff shoppers who travel to Perth for their main food shop.”
Stephen Leckie, chairman of Crieff Community Council, called the plan “a wonderful opportunity.”
The proposals will be outlined at the Crieff Community Council meeting on Tuesday at 6.30pm in Strathearn Community Campus.
