Legion Scotland will commemorate the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe with a free event in Forfar on Saturday at 2pm.
The fun-filled day of celebration will bring people of all ages and all walks of life together and will take place on the football pitches of Farmington and Forfar Athletic FCs.
Highlights include Highland dancers, military bands, pipe bands, antique military vehicles, re-enactment groups, fly pasts from a replica Spitfire, charity stands, military displays and children’s activities including bouncy castles, face painting and food.
The event will conclude with a beating retreat, starting at 6pm.
Meanwhile, there is a wreath-laying ceremony at the Dundee Submarine Memorial at Victoria Dock on Saturday, with a two-minute silence from 11am. The Lord Provost and the Consul General of the Russian Federation, Andrey A Pritsepov, will be in attendance.
There will be an old fashioned tea dance with a 1940s theme at MacRosty Park in Crieff from 3-5pm.
The Fly Right Dance Company will be there demonstrating and guiding people through the dances from VE Day 1945 such as the Lindy Hop, Jitterbug and many more.
