O’Halloran looking to get back on goal trail

Michael O’Halloran is confident he can get the goals to fire St Johnstone back into Europe.

Brian Graham has taken over as Saints’ biggest attacking threat in the last couple of months, with O’Halloran’s barren run stretching back 10 games.

The on-loan Dundee United frontman won’t be able to play in today’s high-stakes Tayside derby, and now that he’s signed a pre-contract with Ross County, may not pull a Saints shirt on again.

But the former Celtic and Bolton forward believes he can get back on the goal trail when it matters most.

O’Halloran, whose last goals were scored at Tannadice in February, pointed out: “I’ve scored a few goals this season and have hit the target the manager set me before the season started.

“Obviously I would have liked to have had more but there’s three games left and I’d like to add to what I already have.

“I should have had at least one against Inverness last weekend but I snatched at it too much.

“I think if I’d shown a bit more composure then I would have scored so that’s something I need to work on.

“I’ve been doing shooting practice this week and hopefully if I get a chance against United I’ll be able to put it away.

“I don’t mind where I play as long as I’m in the team.

“If the gaffer asks me to play through the middle I’m happy to be there.”
