School vandals caused more than half-a-million pounds worth of damage at Dundee schools in the last three years.
New figures reveal that Dundee City Council spent £112,201 on repairs last year, following 401 incidents at primary and secondary schools.
Since 2012, the council has paid £519,311 to help repair damage after receiving 1,724 claims from education bosses.
The majority of incidents more than 1,000 took place at secondary schools.
Councillor Will Dawson convener of the city development committee, which deals with repairs of public buildings said the money could be “better spent elsewhere”.
