Dundee United’s Ryan Dow has taken the first tentative step towards recovery following his groin operation.
Dow has had positive feedback after the surgery in England and the club are confident he will be fit and raring to go for pre-season training.
Tannadice assistant boss Simon Donnelly said: “Ryan has had his operation and he is now in recovery.
“He will be ready to go for pre-season training.
“It is frustrating not to have him available now because he is a big player for the team but we have to accept that he is out until we all get back together again.
“It is reassuring to hear that everything went well.
“The surgeon was happy after Ryan went back down to see him as a follow-up to the surgery.
“I think we are all happy with the progress he is making even though he is in a bit of discomfort at the moment.
“He will be fine to go again in a couple of months’ time.”
