Missing Susan McLean: US tourist ‘no stranger to the outdoors’
ByGraeme Ogston
An American tourist missing in Highland Perthshire since Sunday is no stranger to the outdoors, according to a neighbour.
Susan McLean, 61, of Monroe Township, Pennsylvania, failed to return to her room at a resort in Aberfeldy on Sunday evening.
The neighbour, who did not want to be identified, told Pennlive.com that Mrs McLean is “a very outdoor person and an accomplished horseback rider. She’s not unfamiliar with the outdoors.”
Mrs McLean, a mother of two, is a self-employed teacher of horseback riding and therapeutic riding
Her friend Dana Colestock said Mrs McLean was a “wonderful person.”
She said: “She’s very outgoing, loves horses and is a great teacher.”
Mrs McLean’s husband Donald posted on his Facebook page that the family was off to travel on May 7.
He wrote: “The McLeans are off to Scotland for a family vacation; sons too!”
Another post showed Mrs McLean reading a map in an airport terminal.
