The giant marquee set up on the East Links for the event organised by Light and Life Gypsy Church was taken down overnight. Around 50 caravans set up on a site adjacent to the Montrose Medal Course at the end of last week. Claire Penman, company secretary at Montrose Golf Links, said: “Quite a number left this morning from around 9am. “It’s not having any impact on play on the Medal course or the Broomfield course. A couple of holes on the pitch and putt were affected. “The marquee was removed either last night or first thing this morning.” Their presence in Montrose prompted a flurry of complaints and the council was applying for a court order to remove them.
