Bionic mum and United star in quadricycle world record win
ByThe Courier Reporter
Scotland’s bionic mum, Corinne Hutton, was joined by Dundee United star Andy McLaren yesterday to break the world record for fastest 10km travelled on a quadricycle.
All money raised on the day will go toward Finding Your Feet, which helps those facing life-changing physical trauma.
Corinne said: “Today was all about having fun, getting people out and about to raise funds for people who, like me, have suffered life-changing physical trauma.
“When it was suggested I take on this challenge and try to set a world record, I was a little doubtful but since my illness I don’t like to use the word ‘can’t’. I had to do it.
“I’ve no idea what my next challenge will be but I’m open to suggestions.”
Andy McLaren who co-founded the charity A&M Training, which brings free football to 1,200 young people in the most deprived areas of Glasgow, said: “I met Corinne earlier this year and was inspired by her story and her attitude to life. She is a prime example of how charities with different goals can work together for mutual benefit.”
