Foot and cycle paths linking a new development in Rosyth to the Camdean Primary School area have been approved.
A controversial part of the plan, involving a footbridge to Forker Avenue, was earlier withdrawn.
It was the part of the plan which had attracted several objections, service manager Mary Stewart told the west Fife planning committee.
Kapital Residential is behind the masterplan, which includes nearly 400 homes, a children’s nursery, care home, hotel, eaterie, five shops and a business and financial centre, being built over three phases.
This part of the scheme would see a footpath/cycleway connection to Brankholm Brae from the north-west corner of the site which, would change into a footpath in the school grounds.
The committee heard the amended scheme was better than the original.
