Councillors have overturned an officer’s recommendation and approved plans for a children’s soft play centre in Dunfermline.
Local councillor Billy Pollock said the proposal “brings something to the area it so dearly needs”.
Officers had recommended that west Fife planning committee reject the plan from Edinburgh-based firm Scampers Softplay to turn the vacant office/storage building, once used by a shopfitting firm, on the northern side of Pitreavie industrial estate into the new centre.
The application attracted only one objection but 37 letters of support. Despite that officials said it should be refused as it was contrary to the local plan.
