Residents in Easthaven are holding a Taste of Angus cycle on June 27.
The event is in partnership with Angus Council and Sustrans and is aimed at encouraging people to get out on their bikes or on foot on the coastal path.
Easthaven resident Wendy Murray said there would also be added elements to attract tourists.
She added: “As this is also Scotland’s year of food and drink we thought it would be a great idea to encourage people to taste the very best of what Angus has to offer. A taste of the stunning landscape, a taste of the outdoors and on arrival in Easthaven a taste of Angus food.
“We are going to hold a big picnic between 10am and 4pm which will give people the opportunity to try some delicious local produce.”
A community grant of £1,000 from Angus Council will enable residents to sell picnic boxes containing Angus bites at a very modest cost.
Local suppliers will provide water and fruit juices, with fresh fruit from Scryne Farm.
