An elderly woman and a man needed hospital treatment after they were knocked over by a bullock on the loose in a town.
The pair suffered minor injuries in the incident in Lerwick, Shetland, on Tuesday.
The two-year-old bullock was spotted roaming in the town’s South Road by police at about 7.45pm.
It knocked over a 70-year-old woman as it headed down a path before emergency services managed to corral it into a walled garden.
Police, a local vet and the animal’s owners then tried to lead the animal into a trailer but it fled, knocking over a man in his forties and trampling him in the process.
Farmers then brought in a cow to calm the bullock, which was later transferred to the trailer and taken back to its home.
The injured man and woman were taken to Gilbert Bain Hospital by ambulance for treatment but were both discharged later in the evening.
It is thought the bullock had escaped from a field before wandering into the town.
