Charlie Adam has had one dream in dark blue come true and now he is chasing another one.
Adam has been recalled to the Scotland squad after more than a year out of favour and will play against Qatar in tomorrow’s friendly match at Easter Road.
His ultimate goal is to get into the side for the crunch Euro 2016 Group D qualifier against the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin a week on Saturday.
If he does so then it will be another night to remember for Adam following his appearance in the colours of boyhood heroes Dundee in Julian Speroni’s testimonial against Crystal Palace last week.
With one ambition realised, Adam would now love to now pull on the dark blue of his country in one of the biggest games in years.
Speaking on the first day of Scotland training at Mar Hall, the Dundonian declared: “That testimonial match was a big thing for me because I support the club.
“Being part of that night was great because I am a Dundee fan.
“It is something that I achieved in my life that I never ever thought would happen but it has and I’m delighted.
“Now I am concentrating on Scotland.
“I have to come and show that I’m good enough to get back in the team.”
