Fans of hit television series Outlander caught glimpses of the show’s stars during filming in Fife over the last two days.
Lead actors Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan were on set in Dysart Harbour, which has been transformed to portray the French port of Le Havre during the 1740s.
Dressed in period costume Balfe, who plays time-travelling nurse Claire Randall, and Heughan, who plays Highlander Jamie Fraser, shot scenes for the second series.
Outlander, dubbed Scotland’s Game of Thrones, has a legion of fans in the US and Canada, but is only available on Amazon Prime Instant Video in the UK.
People keen to see the cameras roll peered over walls in nearby Ravenscraig Park to see the closed set, where a twin-masted clipper is moored.
Among them were Californians Tracey and Jason Boecklen, who have seen every episode.
Tracey said: “We are on holiday in the area for two weeks and just happened to see online they were filming, so we thought ‘why not come along?’.
“It’s the only chance we will ever have to see it filmed, as it’s only filmed in Scotland.”
Joleen Carrington, vice-chairwoman of Dysart Community Council, said there was a real buzz in the burgh, one of several locations in Fife to be used for the series, based on the books by Diana Gabaldon.
