Smoke from controlled burning at Dundee docks causes concern
BySteven Dinnie
A pall of black smoke over the city has prompted questions and worry by residents.
Seemingly emanating from the docks, the fire began just before 2pm and lasted only a few minutes, but left a large pungent smoke cloud which blew inland over the city.
Scottish fire and rescue service confirmed the fire was a small controlled burning at Dundee docks as some waste wood was disposed of.
Forth Ports are yet to respond with a statement but SFRS confirmed the fire was under control and nobody was injured or in danger.
