Emergency services were called to the scene near Lunan Bay following the crash between a car and a lorry which happened around 2.10pm on Monday. Firefighters attended the incident and removed the woman from the car she was travelling in. Paramedics were called and assessed her at the scene before taking her to Ninewells Hospital. A police escort was seen heading back towards Dundee as it accompanied the ambulance. A section of the busy road between Arbroath and Montrose was shut for several hours after officers from Police Scotland sealed off the accident site. Tailbacks quickly built up in both directions until officers set up acordon and diverted traffic through Inverkeilor. The car sustained significant damage to its body and the wheels to the front of the lorry appeared to have beenstruck. The police were unable toprovide an update on the woman’scondition on Monday night. A total of three fire crews and four police vehicles were called to deal with the crash. No one else is thought to have been injured in the incident.
