Forfar’s ‘Mr Legion’ tells club about changing face of RBLS

Forfar Probus gave Royal British Legion Scotland stalwart Charlie Brown a warm welcome as their most recent speaker.
He outlined his career and gave the club an insight into the working and aims of the Legion.
Mr Brown has been a military man most of his life, signing up in 1965 with REME, serving in West Germany, Malaysia and Singapore.
He was promoted to lance corporal in physical training, Staff Sergeant in military training in 1972, dealing with new adult recruits to the army of the Rhine, and finishing as Sergeant Major in the electrical engineers after 23 years’ service.
He later served for many years as Angus Council officer, escorting the provost on official occasions.
