More than 350 proud parents, family members and friends will pack Dundee and Angus College’s Gardyne Theatre this evening to applaud more than 100 prizewinning students.
Each has excelled during their studies and their efforts will be recognised at the college’s largest ever awards ceremony.
They will share 88 individual prizes from sponsors in industry and commerce and principal Christina Potter will celebrate their achievements and highlight the challenges they have faced.
A number of new prizes will be on offer this year among them the Gillian Anderson Memorial Award for Achievement.
Gillian, of Dundee, was studying HNC care and administration in 2013 when she died following a brain haemorrhage, leaving behind a family of five.
Though left stunned by their classmate’s sudden death, her fellow students were determined that she be remembered and suggested an award to recognise the achievement through adversity of a student on a care course.
