Montrose boss Paul Hegarty’s attempts to bolster his squad continue to be frustrated, with several potential targets playing a waiting game before committing themselves to a club.
The Gable Endies gaffer oversaw a clear-out of the squad at the end of last season with the Angus side finishing the campaign later than everyone else in League Two following their pyramid play-off games against Brora Rangers.
As Hegarty looks to bring in players with greater quality than the ones who have left, he is having to be patient.
He said: “We have spoken to numerous players but there is nothing happening at all at the moment.
“I have been talking to other coaches and managers and it seems everyone is in the same boat and there is very little movement.
“We have also spoken to a few senior teams about possible loan deals but we will have to wait and see about that with clubs not back until the start of July. So it is very much a waiting game at the moment.”
