Around 15 caravans pitched up at the site of the old St Pius Primary School earlier this month. It is believed the Douglas group had previously camped at Finlathen Park. The Travellers said they had been visiting relatives at the site. Although the caravans have now moved on, rubbish has been left strewn across the ground. A new camp has been formed at Caird Park, but it is not known if it is the same group who left Douglas. Councillors have called for comprehensive reform of how the city handles Travellers.
