Emergency crews were called to e-cigarette specialists Vaporized just before 8pm. Passers-by called 999 when they saw smoke and flames coming from the County Place property. Three fire service appliances from Perth spent just under an hour tackling the blaze which caused extensive damage to the ground floor property. A spokeswoman said firefighters used an axe and hydraulic spreaders to smash their way into store. The shop is at the ground level of a four-storey building. Residents living above were advised about the fire, but the property was not evacuated. A hose reel jet and four breathing apparatus was used to bring the blaze under control. The street was cordoned off by police. At one stage, staff at a neighbouring takeaway were asked to leave, amid fears the fire could spread.
