A driveway company is being investigated by Dundee’s Trading Standards.
Dundee City Council received a complaint against Kestrel Driveways, which earlier this week had a van parked within an illegal Traveller encampment.
A householder who contacted The Courier said he had been targeted twice by the company, offering work he did not want.
The man said: “When I pointed out that our driveway did not require to be renewed the man turned around and said something which I took to be uncomplimentary about me and flung down a paper flyer.
“Some weeks later my wife answered the door and the man tried to get her interested in a new driveway.
“Her answer was obviously the same and she was belittled for not wanting their free quote.”
Environment convener Craig Melville said: “We have received a complaint and we will be investigating. Residents are reminded to not deal with tradesmen on their doorstep and to use a firm that is a member of the Trusted Trader scheme.
“Companies that appear on the Trusted Trader website are vetted by the council’s Trading Standards service before they become members.”
