A drug dealer whose stash was found in a Haribo tub has been jailed for three years and nine months.
Allan Reilly’s home in Cupar was raided in April following a tip-off to police.
Officers scoured the house and found £4,000 worth of cocaine and cutting agents in a tub of the gummy sweets.
It had been hidden inside a wheelie bin.
Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson told Dundee Sheriff Court: “He has previous convictions on indictment for being concerned in the supply of drugs for which he served three years in prison.
“As well as the drugs found in the Haribo tub there was a further bag of cutting agent, benzocaine, in the kitchen on top of the fridge.
“His DNA was found in the knots of these bags. The maximum street value of the cocaine was £4,050.”
Reilly, 32, a prisoner at HMP Perth, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of drugs on April 5 this year at an address in Constable Acre, Cupar.
Peter Robertson, defending, said: “He appreciates he faces a significant prison sentence.
“He had built up a debt in the thousands and was allowing the drugs to be held at his home as repayment.”
Sheriff Elizabeth Munro said: “It is your criminal record that places you in the situation you are in today.
“Your last sentence was three years for exactly the same offence.”
