Fife woman badly injured in road crash in Australia
ByCraig Smith
A Fife woman suffered life-changing spinal injuries in a car accident in Australia, it has emerged.
Caroline Davie, 28, from Burntisland, remains in a serious condition after the smash on June 26 and could be facing up to four months in Perth Royal Hospital before a lengthy period of rehabilitation.
Her parents, Carol and Ricky, dashed Down Under to be by her side, while an online appeal to help the family pay for flights, accommodation and other costs that may lie ahead has raised more than £11,120 in two-and-a-half weeks.
With friends keeping their fingers crossed that Miss Davie can pull through, her brother Richard has revealed that doctors fear her mobility will be severely restricted and that she will have to adapt to a new way of life.
But he added: “Those who know Caroline personally can testify that she is a determined soul so we are all hoping she can channel this into her recovery.”
Mr Davie’s online appeal for his sister is going from strength to strength, and donations can be made via
