Dunfermline Athletic sign Joe Cardle and Sean Murdoch

Dunfermline Athletic have brought two former fans favourites back to East End Park ahead of the new season.
Winger Joe Cardle and goalkeeper Sean Murdoch, who are both 28-years-old, have put pen to paper on contracts as the Pars prepare for another season in League One.
Cardle left in 2013 after the club’s administration and was snapped up by Fife rivals Raith Rovers before spending the 2014/15 season with Ross County.
However, he was released by the Staggies at the end of that campaign and was given the chance to impress new Pars boss Allan Johnston in friendlies against East Fife and Berwick.
Meanwhile, Murdoch boosts Johnston’s goalkeeping options after appearing as a trialist in the midweek friendly with Queen’s Park.
He first joined the Pars full-time in the summer of 2003 and spent a number of seasons on loan with the likes of Forfar and Hamilton before moving to Accies in 2008.
After a spell at Accrington Stanley, Murdoch returned to Scotland in October 2012 as back up for Hibs’ first choice Ben Williams.
