Angus man ‘humbled’ by generosity as £2,500 holiday fund is raised after terminal diagnosis
ByRichard Watt
An Angus man diagnosed with a terminal illness is intent on making every remaining moment count with his wife-to-be and family.
Well-known Arbroath physiotherapist Grant Callachan was told last month he may have just weeks to live when he visited specialists at Ninewells Hospital after developing a permanent migraine.
The father-of-two had developed a massive brain tumour, which was only detected because of the constant pain.
Despite coming to terms with his diagnosis, Mr Callachan sometimes has doubts over whether he has “let down” his family.
But the 38-year-old feels both “humbled” and “very lucky” following a show of generosity from friends and relatives which has seen more than £2,500 raised towards a holiday within a matter of days.
