A Dundee man was placed on the sex offenders register after the “remains” of his stash of child abuse images was found on his computer.
Ian Hunter was detained by the police after dozens of images and videos were found at an address in the city.
Depute fiscal Nicola Gillespie told Dundee Sheriff Court that 50 low-level still images and 10 videos were discovered on the 59-year-old’s computer.
Hunter, of Bright Street, pleaded guilty on indictment to taking or making indecent photographs of children between September 19 2011 and April 9 2014 at an address on Prieston Road.
Defence solicitor Jim Caird said his client was a first offender, adding that all the images had been “deleted”.
Sheriff Alistair Brown deferred sentence until next month for social work background reports and added Hunter’s name to the sex offenders register. He said: “I accept that the number of images found was very small, as these things go.”
