Friends of a tragic Dundee and Angus College student who was killed in a car crash last week are organising a pub quiz in her memory. Karen Gibson, a 22-year-old barmaid, died last Wednesday after the crash in Hamilton on Monday. Her friends are to host a pub quiz to raise money for her funeral while remembering Karen in the Tinsmith Bar in Dundee on Monday evening. Organiser Stef Day said the event, which is open to anyone, would be a tribute to her friend. She said: “It’s going to be a bit of fun. Everybody is welcome. “I will be holding a pub quiz and raffle with plenty of general knowledge, Disney and Harry Potter questions.” Stef said Karen’s favourite drink, tequila, would also be on special offer as a tribute to her friend for “old times’ sake.” There will be a £5 donation to enter the quiz and all of the proceeds will go to Karen’s family to go towards the funeral costs. In addition, there will be a bucket collection for anyone who would like to make a personal donation.
