David Cameron’s description of the people trying to reach Britain as a “swarm” has proven incredibly controversial.
And it gives “an insight into the soul” of the Prime Minister and what’s wrong with how he is dealing with people wanting to escape the horrors of their lives and make new ones in the UK, according to Alex Salmond.
The former First Minister reckons a multi-level approach is needed and has slammed the response of the UK Government. “They are not animals nor insects just people,” he says of the migrants looking to cross from Calais.
It’s no surprise he’s also rather scathing about the House of Lords, with the role of the country’s second chamber coming under increasing scrutiny following the revelations about Lord Sewell. He reckons it’s time the “House of Cards” collapsed for good.
More positively, there’s praise for Scottish golfer Paul Lawrie and the Saltire Energy matchplay event at Murcar links.
