Rangers legend Sammy Cox has died in Canada at the age of 91, the club has announced.
He was widely regarded as one of the Ibrox side’s greatest ever players having joined in 1946.
The club hall of fame member played 370 games and scored 22 goals.
He won three League Titles, three Scottish Cups, one League Cup and secured 24 caps for Scotland.
He also played a key role in Rangers becoming the first team to win the treble in the 1948-49 season.
Before turning professional with Rangers, he was a teenage amateur for Queen’s Park, Third Lanark and Dundee during the war.
Cox, who was born in Darvel, Ayrshire, on April 13 1924, played at either full-back or wing-half for the club.
Rangers director John Gilligan said: “On behalf of the directors, management team, players and staff, I would like to send our sincere condolences to Sammy’s family and to his many friends in the North American Rangers Supporters Association at this very sad time.”
