East Fife skipper Stevie Campbell has taken another step forward to returning to action after ankle surgery by joining manager Gary Naysmith’s squad for training.
The 28 year old former Rangers, Partick Thistle and Airdrie defensive minded player had last season cut short due to the injury however he is now starting work with the rest of the Bayview squad with an autumn return to action pencilled in.
Naysmith said: “We received good news a couple of weeks ago when the surgeon said that Stevie’s operation had been a total success. He has now built on that by getting back involved with the boys.”
“It will take a few weeks to get him fully up to speed but it is another step forward.”
