Top award could be on the menu for Playfair’s restaurant

A Fife eatery has been shortlisted for a top award.

Playfair’s restaurant and steakhouse in St Andrews has been named as a finalist in the Best Restaurant in the North-east Region category at the annual Food Awards Scotland.

Now in its second year, it celebrates the best in the Scottish food sector.

Head chef Duncan McLachlan said the team was thrilled to be nominated.

“Playfair’s always strives for excellence and delivering the best dining experience possible for every one of our guests and it is a huge honour that so many of our customers have voted for us.”

The winners will be announced later this month.
