Three people are set to stand trial over an alleged conspiracy to set fire to a car believed to be owned by a Dundee police officer.
William Handy, Craig Guest and Lynsey Geekie are alleged to have poured petrol on a car believed to be owned by PC David Farr and ignited it, damaging the vehicle, at a driveway in Ballumbie, Dundee, on June 23 last year.
Handy is accused of having conspired with Guest and Geekie to commit the crime, between May 13 and June 23 2014.
It is alleged the trio communicated by phone; planned a false alibi and discussed payment for the performance of certain acts; searched the internet for home addresses of PC Farr and PC Ross Clark; visited the street in which PC Farr resided and drove past the police compound at Downfield Police Station. The charge states that this happened after Handy had been stopped on May 13 2014 by PC Farr and PC Clark on the A90 for alleged road traffic offences.
It is claimed that Guest and Handy instructed staff at an O2 shop to remove data from their mobile phone. The three are further accused of, between February 13 and 22 last year, conspiring to wilfully set fire to a vehicle within the premises of NCR at Discovery Centre, Fulton Road, Dundee.
Guest, 31, of Nelson Street, Dundee; Geekie, 31, of Muirton Road, Dundee; and Handy, 53, of Middlebank Holding, Errol, denied all the charges at Glasgow High Court.
Trial was set for February 29.
