A Dundee car showroom is backing a group of Mazda enthusiasts who are taking part in a seven-day charity rally across Europe.
Members of the MX-5 Owner’s Club will set off on August 29 in the Race for Freedom rally, in aid of the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund (RMCTF) and Sailors Children’s Society.
Highlights of the trip will include travelling roads used in the Tour de France, attending a private function hosted by the Ambassador of Monaco and taking the cars around the Monaco Grand Prix Course.
Barnetts Mazda on Riverside Drive, which launches the new MX-5 on the day of the team’s departure, has shown its support with sponsorship.
The MX-5 fans are a mixed group of serving and former service personnel and their trip will culminate in a visit to the Argenta Gap Military Cemetery where they will place remembrance crosses on the graves relating to their own unit and a wreath on the grave of Royal Marine VC Cpl Tom Peck Hunter, who was lost at the Battle of Lake Comacchio in 1945.
