A former Black Watch soldier has died suddenly in Dundee at the age of just 36.
Emergency services were called to a block of flats at Palais Court, just off South Tay Street, on Wednesday morning after receiving a report of the death of Graeme Grubb.
Police have ruled out any suspicious circumstances.
One neighbour said: “When I saw the police outside I was very worried. When I spoke to the neighbours I found out what had happened. It’s such a shock.”
Graeme, who had always dreamed of serving his country, signed up for 12 years in The Black Watch but only completed three of those before he had to be medically discharged due to a kidney problem.
In an interview back in 2010, he spoke about the problems he had encountered with drugs and alcohol since leaving the army.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We can confirm we have attended the sudden death of a 36-year-old man at South Tay Street, Dundee, at 11.45am on Wednesday.
