Two Perthshire communities gathered at the weekend to celebrate their annual Highland games.
Separate events took place in both Crieff and Kinloch Rannoch and saw competitors from across the region compete in Highland dancing and heavyweight competitions, as well as piping and athletic events.
The chieftain of the Crieff Highland Gathering, which was held on Sunday, was Olympic curler Eve Muirhead, the youngest person to be given the honour in the event’s 145-year history.
She said: “I’m delighted to be chieftain of Crieff Highland Games. As a young child I remember attending with my family and I can remember it being such a great day out for all ages and it definitely will be again this year.”
The Kinloch Rannoch event took place on Saturday and, thanks to a grant from Awards for All, for the first time featured a covered dance stage to protect contestants from the elements.
